Telco System Uses Artificial Intelligence and the Internet to Fix Phones

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 4, 2002

Norcross, Georgia -- CyberObject Corporation announces the release of ICAS II (Intelligent Customer Advocate System II). This new release enhances ICAS's already powerful expert system design used for telephone company trouble repair and administration.

The culmination of ten years of laboratory study and field input, ICAS II dramatically improves both the front-end technician interface and the back-end system interface of ICAS.

The new graphical user interface is designed to reduce the repair representative's customer contact time while improving the quality of the technician's trouble screening and analysis. Presenting the right information at the right time in the right format is the key.

ICAS II not only seamlessly extracts critical information from a variety of legacy Operational Support Systems (OSS) -- like the basic ICAS -- it also allows access to a wide variety of sub-systems and interfaces through secure internet or intranet connections. Now your Repair Representative can have instant access to supplementary information like training guides, methods and procedures on an as-needed basis. The strength of ICAS is its ability to access a variety of disparate information sources, extract the precise data needed and present it in a common English look and feel at the moment you need it. In doing so it dynamically prompts you with questions that screen the case of trouble while you are receiving it. This concurrent receipt and screening process may include testing, if appropriate, but will always include a dispatch (in or out) recommendation and commitment date based on your business rules and your current work force capabilities.

Applying the power of artificial intelligence and access to a variety of OSSs has allowed the ICAS to support over 800 concurrent users in multiple states. This distributed system has logged over 79,000 trouble reports in a twenty-four hour period providing enterprise-wide trouble administration rules while accommodating local variations in products, policies or regulatory rules.
